Annette Kouwenhoven

Emergent Strategy and Social Innovation by taking action.

I am a multifaceted professional who identifies myself as a strategic writer, designer, activist, and artist. I am involved in the Co-Creative Agency, where I focus on shaping change to impact societies and worlds. My work spans various disciplines, including writing, drawing, building networks, activating, organizing, and art. I am actively setting up the co-creative agency – The Right to Create Communication – and the associated Right to Create foundation, underlining my commitment to collaborative and innovative approaches in my field of work.

Additionally, my involvement in social and cultural projects has been seen and ongoing since 2004. Before that time I squatted, worked in the corporate world to learn the methods and dedicated myself mainly to animal rights. After I became a mother, I realized how fragile human life could be. I softened up. I have been associated with undocumented groups and artists in the art project Redocumented, the Solidarity App for undocumented people in 2013, the Good Morning Team, the We Are Here football team, Amsterdam City Rights coalition, PrintRights, The City Rights App.

My involvement is part of my broader interest in social design and creative activism, where I seek to use my skills in conceptdevelopment, information design and art to advocate for social issues, to engage in community-oriented projects with and for marginalized groups, people in need of information, be it artists or refugees.

My work, particularly in the context of Amsterdam City Rights and other social initiatives, highlights my dedication to use creative means to facilitate the access to information, concerning marginalized and underserved communities.
